1st UP - SUMMER SCHOOL - Children's Book Illustration with Sandra Morris

This 5-day intensive workshop will steer you from rough draft to publisher proposal, guiding you through the processes of character development, drawing techniques, storyboarding and constructing a ‘dummy’ book.  Learn the skills needed to create an expressive and engaging character in the genre of your choice. There is ample time within the course devoted to illustration techniques, including dry techniques such as graphite powder, pastel dust, stencils and coloured pencils, along with wet techniques; watercolour, inks and water soluble pencils. You will also create a 3D model of a character of your choice. Complete the week by selecting one of your rough drafts and develop it into a publisher-ready sample spread.

9 am - 4.30 pm daily

 If enrolments are low prior to the start date of your course, we will advise you and there will be a full refund. We prefer not to cancel the class until absolutely necessary.

 Should you need to withdraw from a course the following will apply:

·       More than 7 days before the course starts, a refund of 90% of the course fee will be given

·        Less than 7 days before the course starts, a refund of 50% of the course fee will be given

·        On the day the course starts or after commencement no refund will be given

 You will be asked to complete an evaluation form at the end of your course.  Your evaluation assists us to improve our service and provide feedback to our funders, who enable us to maintain fees at an affordable level.
