In this practical, two-hour workshop, AI enthusiast and tech facilitator Lisa Lightband shows you how to put today's AI tools to work on your real genealogy challenges. From decoding curious middle names and tracing links to historic estates, to understanding what daily life actually looked like for your ancestors.

You'll learn how to write prompts that get results, which AI tools suit which tasks, and critically how to spot when AI is making things up. Because yes, it does. And knowing that makes you a smarter, safer researcher.

In this workshop you'll:

• Discover how AI can fast-track your family research without replacing good genealogy practice
• Learn the prompts that unlock ancestors, historical context, and image interpretation
• Work through real case studies from Lisa's own family mysteries
• Get hands-on with a range of AI tools and know which to use when
• Leave with templates, checklists, and the confidence to keep going at home

No tech experience required. If you can type a question, you can use AI.

 If enrolments are low prior to the start date of your course, we will advise you and there will be a full refund. We prefer not to cancel the class until absolutely necessary.

 Should you need to withdraw from a course the following will apply:

·       More than 7 days before the course starts, a refund of 90% of the course fee will be given

·        Less than 7 days before the course starts, a refund of 50% of the course fee will be given

·        On the day the course starts or after commencement no refund will be given

 You will be asked to complete an evaluation form at the end of your course.  Your evaluation assists us to improve our service and provide feedback to our funders, who enable us to maintain fees at an affordable level.
